Overview

Elevator push buttons are the call and command buttons on the car operating panel, landing stations and disabled access panels. They are the part passengers use most, and the part that fails most often in public buildings. One Elevator supplies replacement buttons, bezels and the micro-switch assemblies behind them for most elevator fixtures.

Applications

They are replaced in passenger lifts, hospital beds lifts and service lifts in residential blocks, office towers, hotels, hospitals and shopping malls, and suit OTIS, KONE, Schindler, Mitsubishi, ThyssenKrupp and Fujitec panels. Buttons are the highest-volume replacement item in any lift fleet, and vandal-resistant types are standard in public buildings. A sticking or dark button is also an accessibility issue, so it is usually fixed the same week. For fleets we recommend standardising on one button type, so the same spare fits every car in the building.

Selection Guide

Confirm three things when ordering: the panel cut-out diameter, the switch type and rating, and whether the button is illuminated and at what voltage. Check the mounting depth as well, since a deep micro-switch will not fit behind a shallow fixture. Where a panel is being refreshed, we can supply the complete button set with matching legends and Braille. Buttons are tested for mechanical life, contact resistance and illumination uniformity. We can also supply complete panel faces with the cut-outs already made, which saves time on a refurbishment.
