Moving Walk Pallet

Overview

Moving walk pallets are the flat or slightly crowned platforms that form the walking surface of an autowalk and carry passengers along the level or inclined section. They are wider and heavier than escalator steps and run in a continuous band. One Elevator supplies replacement pallets and complete pallet bands for most moving walk models.

Applications

Pallets are replaced in airports, railway stations, supermarkets, exhibition centres and car parks, on equipment from OTIS, KONE, Schindler, Mitsubishi, ThyssenKrupp and Hyundai. Airport walkways carry luggage trolleys and heavy rolling loads, so pallet wear and bearing failure are the two most common faults. Surface damage is also a trip hazard, which is why most operators swap a damaged pallet immediately. For airport walkways we recommend keeping two or three spare pallets on site, since a single damaged pallet closes the whole walkway.

Types and Range

  • Aluminium die-cast pallets with cleated or ribbed surfaces
  • Stainless steel pallets for outdoor and wash-down installations
  • Pallets with rubber or PVC surface inserts
  • Heavy-duty trolley pallets for airport baggage areas
  • Pallet chains, rollers and axles supplied as matched sets
  • Single pallets or complete pallet bands built to the walkway length

Surface pattern is matched to the original to keep the same slip resistance.

Selection Guide

Confirm three values before ordering: pallet width, pitch and the roller arrangement. Also check the surface material — smooth aluminium is easy to clean, while ribbed or rubber-faced pallets grip better underfoot. On a full band replacement, the chain is changed at the same time, since a new band on a stretched chain will not track correctly. Pallets are manufactured to EN 115-1 geometry and inspected for flatness, load capacity and bearing fit.

Ordering and Lead Time

Stock sizes dispatch in 10-15 working days; full bands take 3-4 weeks. Send the walkway model number and pallet width and we will confirm fitment before you order.

Frequently asked questions

How do I order pallets for a moving walk?
Give us the walkway model number and the pallet width. Pallets are not interchangeable between widths, even within one brand.
Can I buy a partial band?
Yes. Part bands are common after localised damage, but check that the new pallets are the same height as the ones staying in service.
What is the lead time on a full band?
Stock widths dispatch in 10-15 working days; full bands take 3-4 weeks. Send the model number and we will confirm before you order.
