Overview

Elevator car fans are the cross-flow or axial units mounted in the car roof or behind the car panel that keep the cab ventilated and comfortable. Air circulation is a passenger expectation rather than a legal requirement, but it is also the source of most comfort complaints. One Elevator supplies replacement car fans, complete fan assemblies and the grilles, filters and mounting hardware that go with them.

Applications

They are used in passenger lifts, panoramic lifts, hospital beds lifts and service lifts in residential blocks, office towers, hotels, hospitals and shopping malls, and are made to fit OTIS, KONE, Schindler, Mitsubishi, ThyssenKrupp and Fujitec cars. Fan noise is one of the most frequent comfort complaints in a lift, and a failing bearing is usually the cause. In hospitals, quiet fans with washable filters are the standard choice. On car refurbishments the fan is usually replaced with the ceiling and lighting, since the access is exactly the same job.

Isolation mounts are worth specifying on every job, because they stop fan vibration reaching the car panels. Every fan is tested for airflow, noise level, insulation resistance and bearing run-out.
